Diane Walton

Hello I'm Diane and I design and make jewellery. I'm based in Stockport and have a studio in Market Place Studios. My recent work includes earrings, pendants and necklaces.

I'm influenced by lots of things in my local environment, anything from cracks in the pavement to building details, but trees and water are special favourites. I love the way water ripples and traps leaves, the way twigs and branches tangle together in the undergrowth, the textures of bark and seeds and the way flowers and berries cluster together. It gives me a sense of calm which is reflected in my work, or at least I like to think so.

In my designs I distill the lines, shapes and textures that I see in the world around me by shaping wire and combining it with hammered and rolled patterns.  I use these combinations to make jewellery for the everyday as well as for special occasions.
